In just ten simple steps, you can make your firm discoverable on Google Maps – let’s dive in.
To begin with, you’ll want to make sure you’re logged into Google with whatever account you’d like associated with your firm (probably the same email you use to manage your Google Business Profile). This won’t be visible to the public, but it will be the account you manage your business profile from moving forward.
Once you’re logged in, navigate to google.com/maps.
Next up, search for your firm’s address in the Google Maps search bar. A panel will appear with more information about the address in the left-hand side of the screen.
Within this panel, select “Add your business.”
If you haven’t built a Business Profile for your firm yet, you’ll be prompted to fill out some basic information, like your firm’s name and the services you offer. Follow the instructions on-screen and click “Continue.”
Click “Yes” and “Next.”
At this point, Google may ask you to answer a few “Yes” or “No” questions – simply answer to the best of your ability and click “Continue.”
Input your firm’s customer service phone number and your website name.
You can also choose to verify your firm later, but you won’t be visible on Maps until you complete the verification process.
Choose the services that best match your firm’s offerings. If you don’t see a service you provide listed, click “Add custom service.”
You’ll be prompted to enter your firm’s hours of operation, as well as a brief brand messaging and description. You can also choose to submit photos of your firm at this time (although you can add these later, too).
Google will also ask if you’d like to begin advertising. Click “No” for now – you can always come back later to start your ads.
Once your verification is complete, you’re all set! Google will send you an email letting you know that your firm is now discoverable on Google Maps.
