From Tech to RIA: Anthony Stich on Family, Faith, and the Money Moment That Changed Everything
Johnny Sandquist
Founder & CEO, Three Crowns Copywriting & Marketing
Anthony Stich (better known as “Mr. Purple” to some) has worn a lot of hats throughout his career in the wealth management: Marketing leader. Fintech executive. Conference main stage cornerstone.
But now, he’s putting on an entirely new hat as he’s recently left the vendor side of the industry to join Moran Wealth Management as CMO. It’s more than just a job change. For Tony, it’s the culmination of personal experiences, career lessons, and a mission that’s been building since childhood.

The Money Moment That Started It All
Growing up as one of ten children, Tony’s life took a sharp turn when his father lost his job during a major economic shift. Bankruptcy followed, and Tony saw firsthand the stress financial instability can create for a family.
That experience stuck and it became his “money moment.” In other words, it was the spark that led him to wonder how financial advice might have changed that situation for his father.
Years later, that question still fuels his passion for helping others as he supports advisors who help others avoid similar struggles.
Moving from the Vendor Booth
Tony built his early career in fintech, leading marketing and growth strategies for industry stalwarts like NaviPlan and InvestCloud. But after years of enabling advice from a distance, he wanted to get closer to the people receiving it.
Moran Wealth Management offered the perfect landing spot: a modern-thinking RIA focused on growth, client experience, and innovation. With his oldest son heading to college in Naples, Florida, where Moran is based, the timing couldn’t have been better.
“I get to flex my marketing muscle, help with the tech stack, and contribute directly to the client experience,” Tony said. Sounds like a perfect fit to us.
Learning the Hard Way
Tony’s biggest money mistake came after he was part of the deal that sold NaviPlan to InvestCloud. With such a monumental moment behind them, he and his family dove into a full renovation of their “forever home.”
As a result of that process, two lessons stuck out more than any others:
-
Budget for more than you think you’ll need – “If your number is X, plan for X plus Y.”
-
Think carefully about timing – big cash outlays can feel very different if your career path shifts unexpectedly, like it did for Tony.
Ironically, the move to Florida means that forever home will soon belong to someone else—but that change doesn’t make the process or the memories any less bright.
What Gives Anthony Stich His Edge
For Tony, the answer to the question “what gives you your edge?” comes down to three things:
-
Family – his constant motivation
-
Faith – the values that shape his decisions
-
AI – ChatGPT gives Tony a modern-day edge, from marketing efficiencies to creative strategy. And to top it off, he calls his AI assistant “Chad.”
When you combine those with decades of industry experience, you get a leader who puts his whole self into every single day of work, because to Tony, it’s not “just” work.
The Key Takeaway
Anthony Stich’s move from tech to RIA is about alignment between his life stage, professional skill set, and personal mission.
It’s the latest chapter in a story that began with a family hardship and has evolved into a career dedicated to supporting those who deliver peace of mind through financial advice.
