NEUMANN. (SAY IT IN YOUR BEST JERRY SEINFELD VOICE).
Remember Adam Neumann, former CEO and co-founder of WeWork? The company that (checks notes) “revolutionized office space” by putting remote workers all together at random desks and giving them things like free coffee?
Yeah, we’re sure you didn’t forget even though no one talks about the company anymore. By most accounts, Neumann was not a great CEO and after a failed IPO, he left the company in a state of disgrace.
Well, folks, no one ever stays gone in VC land and Neumann is back with Flow. He’s got some insane backing for this new venture from Andreeson Horowitz – to the tune of $350 million.
Flow sounds more like an idea than a company right now. It’s going to (again) “revolutionize” an industry by taking apartments and…somehow making them…more fun? I guess we’ll see. But for the time being, the only thing this story is doing is highlighting the inequality in VC funded companies. A guy like Neumann can scratch an idea on a napkin and get a massive check, but only 2% of women-led startups get VC funding.
7 WAYS TO SAVE MONEY ON GOOGLE ADS
If you’re not running Google Ads, we highly recommend giving it a shot. Pick some keywords you can target, add a few hundred dollars to the budget, and send your visitors to the most intriguing page on your website.
But before you do that (or even if you already run ads on Google), check out this article detailing seven ways to save money on Google ads.
The thing is, it’s very easy to waste money on their ad platform with a bad landing page, broad keywords and other poor targeting practices. This article from Wordstream goes into a few mistakes that are easy to make if you don’t know what you’re looking for.
IF YOU’RE GOINNA USE AI ON YOUR COMPANY’S SITE, MAKE SURE IT DOESN’T INSULT YOUR CEO
Meta recently unveiled a new chatbot called BlenderBot 3, and when the BBC asked the bot what it thought of Mark Zuckerberg, it was maybe a little too honest. Among the bot’s answers, my favorite was the all-too-true statement: “our country is divided and he didn’t help that at all.”
You can play around with BlenderBot yourself, although it seems like they’ve since cleansed the part of it that dissed MZ. The worst I could get out of it was, “It seems like Zuckerberg is trying to be a good person through his book club and other charity work. He certainly has enough money to help people.”
