It’s that special time of year—the season of accidentally writing 2021 instead of 2022 multiple times per day. 🙈
But whichever year you’re living in, you can still check out below to see who’s bringing some much-needed diversity to the #finserv world, which powerhouse was just appointed to Riskalyze’s board of directors, and all your other weekend news.
America is becoming more diverse year over year. The financial services industry, as a whole, isn’t. There have been a lot of words written about how to help more people from traditionally underrepresented groups become financial advisors, and Choir, a new company launched by industry consultants Sonya Dreizler and Liv Gagnon, is aiming to tackle a different part of the problem: representation at industry conferences.
Choir is launching in multiple phases. The core business aims to help conferences craft speaker lineups that include keynote-worthy people from underrepresented groups who may not have the access or connections that typically lead to invitations to speak at conferences (but let’s be clear, they do have the credentials).
Later in the year, the team at Choir will also be launching a tech solution to help those conferences (as well as members of the media) easily find and connect with women and people of color.
What can you do today? If you’re a conference organizer, speaker, or even just someone who attends conferences, you can sign the Choir Pledge—a public statement of support for the Choir mission and your willingness to lend support in helping conferences reflect the country around us. A New Ally for Equality
After its recent recapitalization by Hg Capital, the Riskalyze Board of Directors has seen some big shifts—and this week was no different with the addition of fintech titan Tricia Rothschild.
Rothschild has tremendous experience building important products at massive fintech brands. Most recently she was the president of Apex Fintech Solutions, a popular digital clearing and custody engine. Rothschild is perhaps best known for her time as the Chief Product Officer and Co-Head of Global Markets at Morningstar, though.
As Riskalyze pushes further to grow its footprint and offer an expanded suite of services, like its new Discovery tool for easy fund discovery and selection, there are few with better perspective to help shepherd it into broad new pastures than Rothschild.
A Round for Rothschild
Sometimes writing social posts and ads and landing pages and blogs and…well, it can become a bit much. If you’re struggling with inspiration in your writing, check out the aptly titled “Copywriting Examples,” featuring a compilation of great writing by marketers and brands. You may not be able to find anything that directly translates to your firm, but you’re bound to find something that sparks some inspiration for you.
Last week, we talked about how Google reviews can make a big difference in how you rank for searches like “financial advisor near me.” This week, we’re going local once again. If you’ve been banging your head against the wall wondering why your firm never shows up in search results, then you need to read this list. (While you’re at it, go check out our blog on the subject to get the whole picture.)
