We’ve made it through another week… woo-hoo!
Looking ahead, the next few Mondays are shaping up to be jam-packed, with Tax Day on the 17th and Memorial Day on the 31st.
Until then, we’ve got some insights to check out before heading into the weekend and a few unique tunes to add to your playlist.
Riskalyze, the market leader in risk solutions for advisors, launched an aggressive campaign this week against two competitors—Orion’s HiddenLevers and RiXtrema. The campaign sought to distinguish the methodology that Riskalyze uses to position it as the stronger, more accurate, and in fact all-around better choice for fiduciary advisors. The WealthTech part of the wealth management industry is, all in all, a pretty small and close-knit contingent so it’s rare to see companies call out each other by name. What this campaign really hits home is that it’s important for advisors to intimately understand the differences between technology systems. It’s not all about UI—when calculations are being run behind the scenes, you should know what those are built on.

Let’s just get this out there: The Elements of Style is one of the best books ever written. Sure, it’s about how to write well, but it’s more than a Bible for writers. It’s concise. It’s entertaining. It’s all the things a good book should be. Shawna Ohm of Content151 breaks down 4 takeaways from this classic to help you become a better writer.

The long and short of it is this: marketing has been based on behavior for a long time, but that’s going away. The future is context-based (targeting based on keywords on pages) and first-party relationships (list-building, social media followers). Now is the time to grow your list!
