Happy Friday!
Today happens to be National Pizza Party Day, so if you’re looking for an excuse to support your local pizzeria, this is it! 🍕
We’ve compiled the most interesting articles that crossed our desks this week and added a few songs to our playlist below.
Have a fantastic weekend!
Must-Read Financial Industry & Marketing Articles
Altruist Raises $50 Million
In all honesty, we typically scroll right past funding announcements, but this one has us feeling super excited. Congratulations to the amazing team at Altruist for securing $50 million in Series B funding. We had the pleasure of talking to Altruist Founder and CEO Jason Wenk on TacoTech a couple months ago and look forward to seeing what’s ahead for this innovative company.
Can’t Vote? Invest Instead!
Is it reckless to give young teens the freedom to invest in the stock market? Or is this a move that will help advisors connect with the children of current clients? Fidelity Investments announced Tuesday that 13- to 17-year-olds will soon be able to trade stocks and funds on their mobile app (without parent permission). What’s next… letting teenagers play poker at the nearby casino? In a world that’s already lacking financial literacy, we’re interested to see how this one plays out.
Wide World of Social Media
Knowing which social media platform to spend the majority of your time on can be overwhelming, which is why this new data from Pew Research Center is so valuable. Using the data they compiled, you can easily determine where your target audience is and focus your efforts trying to reach them on their preferred platform(s).
Here’s what we’ve been listening to this week.

Zach McDonald, President & CMO
“Been listening to this one over and over this week.”

Johnny Sandquist, Founder & CEO
“No one has done more with just a voice and a guitar (and the occasional harmonica) than Bob Dylan.”

Delaney R, Digital Marketing Specialist
“It’s always a good day when this song comes up on your playlist.”
