What makes a great advisor website?
It’s easy to point to a website and label it “good” or “bad,” but getting to the root of why it has that effect is often more difficult.
Perhaps that’s due to the sheer amount of websites we see in our daily lives – one recent report found that the average person visits 130 different web pages each day. Forbes reports that a new site is built every three seconds, and that more than a quarter of all business is conducted online as of 2023.
As the digital world intertwines more and more with the “real” world, it’s imperative that financial professionals invest in websites that can capture attention and offer value to visitors.

Here at Three Crowns, we provide fully custom websites to financial professionals and fintech companies, helping you to hone your message and bring your vision to life – but what do those websites look like and what’s the secret to our process?
Today, we’re taking you behind-the-scenes to discover what makes custom advisor websites by Three Crowns different from other cookie-cutter solutions.
What Makes Three Crowns’ Custom Advisor Websites Different?
Throughout our years of website creation and development, we’ve honed our process to include a blend of three key benefits you won’t find anywhere else:
1. We know both sides of the story – yours and your clients’.
You’re the best at what you do, but communicating that value is a different beast. With decades of industry experience, we know how to translate the financial jargon baked into your philosophies and processes and create copy that resonates with your audience.
2. Each word, image and decision is crafted with the intention to convert.
Our websites aren’t built to speak to everyone – they’re targeted directly to your core personas and ideal clients. We create engaging calls-to-action based on the problems that brought them to your site in the first place, building trust from the very first click.
3. The cherry on top of your site-sundae: We’re fully customizable.
We’re not working from a predetermined template, so there are no limits to what we can create. Our websites incorporate modern design elements from across a wide variety of industries to achieve your vision, and those workshops spent getting to know the heart of your practice allow us to design a website that grows and evolves alongside your team for several years.

What Does a Custom Three Crowns Website Look Like?
Although all of Three Crowns’ services are fully customizable depending on your needs, our websites usually fall into one of our two main categories: Activator and Amplifier.
Click the image below to download our free custom website quick guide.
An Activator website covers all your bases with an eye-catching Homepage and a few other pages to keep your site fresh with new content. All the info packed onto your WordPress-based website is custom-crafted by our in-house team of marketing experts. Typically, an Activator site will launch within 60 days of our kickoff.
An Activator site needs to tell your story from the first look, letting visitors know who you are and what you do. Here’s a quick look at a recent Activator our team created for tech-consulting firm, Ellevate:
An Activator site includes:
- Custom copy
- Custom colors and branding on a templated site
- Up to 5 pages
- Fully developed WordPress site
- Dedicated website team to guide you through every step of the process
- You own the site, so you can host it wherever you want – no more renting (e.g., Squarespace, Wix)
- 60 days from kickoff to launch
An Amplifier website is our option for larger advisory firms and fintech companies that may already have an “okay” website, but are ready to take it to the next level.
Built totally from scratch, an Amplifier site includes workshops to solidify your brand, messaging, and vision. Our designers and copywriters work closely with your team to craft a fully interactive and immersive online experience.
One of our recent Amplifier projects was Journey Strategic Wealth, which included a brand revitalization alongside a website revamp:

Explore Our Integrations
Three Crowns is also proud to offer integrations with your favorite fintech tools.
For example, you can easily add Nitrogen’s award-winning Lead Generation Questionnaire (LGQ) to your online experience, which engages visitors and can dramatically increase your close rate.
Additionally, we’ve partnered with Wealthtender, the provider of Certified Advisor Reviews™, to create an integration that automatically embeds compliance-friendly customer testimonials onto your website.
How Do You Know If Your Website Needs a Refresh?
In general, a website is said to have a lifespan of around 2-3 years (or even less). That doesn’t mean you should leave your website alone for that length of time, either – a well-kept website is updated at least once or twice a year to reflect any relevant changes to your team, compliance, etc.

There are a few telltale signs that it may be time to update your website, too.
- Slow load times. Is it taking a while for your site to load all your content and images? A load time of just a few seconds could be driving visitors away from your site!
- High bounce rates. A high bounce rate indicates that visitors are leaving your website quickly, which could be due to irrelevant content, poor design, or slow loading speed.
- Outdated content. If you’ve updated your brand colors, services, or other important information, an outdated site could confuse clients or prospects.
- Negative feedback. If your clients are complaining about being unable to find information online or are struggling to navigate your site, that’s a good sign to take a look under the hood. You may also wish to collect feedback in the form of a quick survey!
Our team is happy to help you audit your site for potential improvements, guide you through design options, and explore custom solutions catered to your clients and prospects. With several website packages available, a “wealth” of industry knowledge, and a commitment to top-tier results, we are confident that we can build your best website yet.
