XYPN Adds Seven Group and Helios to Advisor Tech Offerings
The XY Planning Network was in the news this week—twice!—for new tech offerings it’s making available to its members. The group is now partnered up with Seven Group for an accessible marketing content library, and Helios for estate planning solutions. You already know how we feel about the importance of marketing, but estate planning feels like a big next frontier for the financial planning profession. More accessible technology for more advisors is one maneuver that can make those important conversations happen more frequently.
Snappy Kraken Unleashes Texting
Do you enjoy getting texts from brands? The brands think you do. OK, so this announcement isn’t at all like signing up for text coupons from TJ Maxx. Snappy Kraken is delivering a compliant way for advisors to communicate via text with clients and prospects. That’s actually a pretty great thing! Creating a great client experience starts with communicating with your clients the way they want to communicate. If they say texting is a go, it’s important to find a way to make it happen. The new feature, called Convos, rolls out soon but the waitlist is open now.
How Financial Advisors Are Talking About Crypto with Clients
Douglas Boneparth—a financial advisor and Bitcoin miner—shares his experience on the front lines of client conversations around crypto. Whether you plan on incorporating crypto into your portfolios or not, this one’s worth a read.
How Much Does it Cost to Run Ads on Facebook?
Spoiler alert: Facebook is one of the most affordable advertising channels out there. Of the four major social networks, it comes in second after Twitter for lowest cost per click. Even though Twitter is cheaper, Facebook wins in our eyes when it comes to advertising for financial advisors as it has a much broader audience. Wordstream loves putting out these reports on advertising costs, and they’re great for high-level overviews, but we would caution you to take it with a grain of salt. Your results and cost will depend largely on your targeting, messaging and offer.
Don’t Judge Facebook By Its Cover
Can Anyone Really Teach Social Media Marketing?
Keeping up with the latest marketing trends can be hard. Trying to keep up with the latest trends in social media marketing is downright impossible. So can anyone really be a social media “expert?” Is a college course in Social Media Marketing immediately outdated and irrelevant? Hootsuite does a great job in this article covering the skills gap in social media marketing.
14 Tips for Writing Great Content
Great content is great content is great content. The tips pretty much never change when it comes to creating engaging articles. This week, SEMRush put out a great little infographic with 14 tips that perfectly summarizes the basics of gaining traction with your content. Sure, there’s nothing new here, but it’s a great summary of everything to keep in mind. We’d recommend saving/printing the tips and just skimming them every time you write something for a while until they become second nature.
Here’s what we’ve been listening to this week.
