Must-Read Financial Industry & Marketing Articles
Choir Launches Voices Network
Let’s start off this week’s Mixtape with some big news for financial services. Choir, the industry’s first diversity-tech platform, dropped a handful of announcements.
The first is that its long-awaited Voices platform has launched in beta. Voices gives journalists and event organizers a central location to search for women, people of color, and nonbinary financial professionals when they’re looking for story sources, experts, and speakers.
The other big piece of news to drop is that Choir has added Dani Fava, an executive at Envestnet, to their Board of Directors. We are huge fans of what Liv Gagnon and Sonya Dreizler are building with Choir and are excited to see how Voices helps to change the speaker lineups you see at future industry events.
The New SEC Marketing Rule…She Approaches
There’s not much else left to say about it, but the SEC started banging the drum a little louder this week to remind advisors that they’re for real serious about this whole “Marketing Rule” thing. If you need it, check out the SEC’s latest announcement for a refresher on what you need to do regarding Policies, Procedures, Books, Records – all that fun stuff.
Campaign of the Week
IKEA’s out here reminding us of the power of taking an old 80s tune, slowing it down and adding sparse instrumentation. Now we’re out here crying over a chair.
Your Daily Dose of Nostalgia Delivered
Eating Noses Isn’t Very Beyond Meat of You
It’s been something like 20 years since Mike Tyson bit off Evander Holyfield’s ear, so that must mean it’s about time for someone else to try a little bit of cannibalization, I guess.
The COO of Beyond Meat, Doug Ramsey (not to be confused with Dave) got into a bit of a road rage incident and…bit someone else’s nose.
We’re not sure if this is related to Doug only eating plant-based meat, but either way, it’s pretty gross.
