Chances are you’ll scroll on your phone while listening to this podcast.
Tom Fields would probably be fine with that.
Social media introduced us to the scroll and push notifications. Fynancial captures these ticks in a social financial platform, a first for the wealth management industry. For lack of a better phrase, Fynancial is “if the current client portal and social media had a baby” — which is appropriately the company’s LinkedIn bio.
During his time as an advisor, Tom realized a gap in advisor-client communication, a chasm really after he lost his biggest client. When Tom asked the former client why they left, they said Tom hadn’t talked with them in months.
Tom was shocked, because it wasn’t totally true. He was online, posted on LinkedIn and started a Youtube channel.
Tom wondered if all client-advisor communication and content could exist on one platform, a sort-of client portal that mimics features synonymous with existing social media platforms, but without the ever-changing algorithm.
Fynancial launched in January 2022 as a social financial platform, a pioneer in the wealth management industry.
“When you have your own platform, you don’t have to battle algorithms,” Tom said. “You can put the right content or the right message in front of the right eyeballs.”
The tool simplifies the client experience, too. Logging in, accessing and interacting with information is easy — and can be accomplished on a phone screen with a couple taps and scrolls, something social media-savvy clients are all too familiar with.
This is just the beginning for Fynancial and the simplification of the client experience in the industry.
