The first conference we’re attending in 2022 is almost here, and we can’t wait to be back in person with friends (old and ones we’ve yet to meet) from across the industry.
Next week, we’ll be at Exchange ETF, a brand new event from the team at Advisor Circle. This conference promises to do things a little differently than you’ve seen in the past and we’re excited to experience their new vision for advisor events.
As we’ve looked over the agenda, we’ve pinpointed a handful of sessions we’re most excited to see.
Here are the top 5 sessions at Exchange ETF we’ll be sure to attend.
Top 5 Sessions at Exchange ETF
5. The Evolution of the Crypto Investor
April 12 @ 9:40 am
What does a crypto investor look like today? The stereotype a few years ago was that only IT nerds and hackers were into bitcoin, but today it’s basically a mainstream asset.
Last November, Pew Research found that 16% of Americans invested in it. Though many financial advisors are still hesitant about crypto, it’s becoming a trend you can’t ignore no matter who your clients might be.
This session between Katie Greifeld from Bloomberg and Michael Sonnenheim from Grayscale will unmask what today’s crypto investors look like and how they’ll change in the future.
4. Could It Happen Again? The Lessons of COVID & Outlook for the Future
April 12 @ 11 am
Are you tired of talking about COVID? So are we, but unfortunately we can’t quite quit it just yet.
Now is the time to take stock of how we reacted to the pandemic and understand how we might be able to do things better next time.
Charity Dean from The Public Health Company and Barry Ritholtz from Ritholtz Wealth Management will take the stage to inform us on this topic and shine a light on what we can do if (or when) a pandemic happens again.
3. The Power of Disruption: The New Way Forward for Asset Management
April 12 @ 4:55 pm
Any top five list would be incomplete without Cathie Wood’s session.
ARK Invest has transformed what asset management looks and sounds like for many, and her conversation with Bob Pisani from CNBC promises to be illuminating.
Whether or not you’re a huge fan of Cathie, you can’t ignore what she’s going to say.
2. Your Voice & Brand
April 14 @ 9:45 am
Your story is everything. If you don’t know how to tell it in a way that captures imagination and makes people want to know more, your marketing, sales, and customer support will all be harder than they need to be.
Anna N’Jie-Konte from Dare to Dream Financial Planning is here to save you. She’ll explore the ways to tell creative stories and build your content and brand around your unique voice.
This one is a must-attend for anyone who wants to become a better communicator.
1. How to Explain Digital Assets and Keep Your Clients
April 13 @ 2 pm
We started this list with crypto, now it’s time to end it with crypto.
Ric Edelman built one the nation’s biggest RIAs, and now he’s focused on educating advisors about digital assets through the Digital Assets Council of Financial Professionals.
He’ll discuss why it’s critical for advisors to understand crypto assets with Nicole Casperson, host of WTFintech?, and one of our absolute favorite new media personalities.
The mix of the old and new between Ric and Nicole, with a splash of a still-not-universally accepted investment class like crypto, makes this a session that’s sure to light up Miami.
Bonus Round
OK….sorry, but we’re cheating a little. The Exchange ETF agenda is so packed, we couldn’t stop with just five sessions, so here are two more you don’t want to miss.
The Macro Case for Bitcoin: Why It Will Go Up Forever
April 12 @ 5:50 pm
The title alone of this session gives us goosebumps. While other sessions about crypto might seek to be more nuanced and emphasize possible risk, we love to see one that emphasizes the possibility of crypto to…dare we say…go to the moon?
Daniela Cambone from Stansberry Research, Frank Holmes from HIVE Blockchain, and Michael Saylor from MicroStrategy will get together to look at how and why the rise of crypto is (still) happening.
Lessons from the Wealth Makers
April 13 @ 2:35 pm
If there was a “Coolest Advisors in the Country” list, we would put this guy on our list – Vance Barse from Your Dedicated Fiduciary (did you know he rode motorcycles with Keanu Reeves? Now you do.)
Even if star-gazing isn’t your thing, Vance will chat with Michael Lane from BlackRock about how to integrate ETFs into your practice.
And ETFs is in the name of the conference, after all, so it makes sense that this session is one you’ll want to attend.
Actually, who are we kidding? Every session at this event has the possibility of being the best.
